ACADEMIC YEAR INTERN

JOB DESCRIPTION

Our forward-thinking, fast paced company is looking to hire talented interns who will be integral members of a highly skilled and experienced professional team, adding value to existing portfolio companies, assisting clients and evaluating new investment opportunities.

The position is ideal for a junior or senior interested in pursuing a career in investments and corporate finance. The internship will provide a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience, build your resume and ultimately allow you to get exposure to several areas of the thriving New York City financial services sector. We would like our interns to join us in our ideally located Midtown offices for at least 2-3 days of the week. Prospective candidates should be able to dedicate at least 20 hours per week. We understand that students are attending classes while working and we will accommodate a flexible schedule.

Due to the rapid growth we are experiencing, the prospective interns will have the opportunity to get involved in live projects immediately. The role will entail conducting market research, developing investment documentation such as business plans, management presentations, information memoranda, and financial models and thus provides exposure to the various stages of capital raising process. By the end of the internships, the successful interns will have developed a critical eye and financial acumen essential to the evaluation of any investment opportunity (public or private). Because of our lean team structure, the interns will assume significant responsibilities early on and thus have ample opportunity to learn about the investment process on the job. It is our intention to hire interns with outstanding performance as investment analysts upon graduation.

INTERNSHIP DURATION AND COMPENSATION

  • Immediate start. At least one semester.

  • At least 20 hours per week to start

  • This is a part-time internship. The interns will be paid a stipend upon the successful closing of a deal

  • Upon successful completion of the internship, interns will be considered for full-time analyst positions

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current college student (junior/senior) majoring in Finance, Industrial Engineering or Economics with a strong interest in investments & financial markets. Financial engineering track is highly desirable. Graduate students are welcome to apply as well.

  • Creative self-starter who is comfortable with both taking initiative and working under guidance

  • Organized, with an ability to multi-task and prioritize time-sensitive assignments

  • Self-sufficient, resourceful, driven to do research

  • Detail oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills

  • Strong work ethic and demonstrated desire to learn

  • Excellent oral and written English

  • Great writing skills and impeccable spelling and grammar; ability to write compelling marketing materials

  • Well versed in Excel and Financial Modeling

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Intellectual curiosity and keen desire to understand niche, esoteric sectors with disruptive technologies will be key to success in this role
